My Art Gallery of Pandemic Life – 2020

Bon Jour!

Hello, again! It has been quite a while since I blogged on life during the Pandemic. Last April to be in fact. Things have progressed for the better, and I would like to share what I have been doing and how I got through the worst of it.

This summer saw a flood in my apartment, causing me to stay in a hotel for 16 nights, while fires raged up in the wine country of Northern California. We had eerie end-of-world colored skies. I then had a meltdown, walked away from God for about a month, and found him again in my foolishnes. We also dealt with election fraud and the loss of our democracy and religious freedoms as we know it here in America. Who will be our new President?

With the Lord’s help, I was able to create; art collages of my reflections on the coronavirus, and a new children’s book: The Blue Beret. I call it my pandemic baby, as it took nine months to research, write, and critique! I hope you have been able to express your feelings and frustrations with this year of 2020 in some creative form. It really helps!

And now, the virus rages on during our holiday season. I had a milestone and cooked my first turkey and complete Thanksgiving meal. I slathered the bird under its skin, with butter mixed with herbs from Provence, France, like they do there, and it was so moist! I await my promised French husband to come find me here in California, and begin a new life in the south of France. Miracles abound during this time, and God has brought family back into my life, which was a long-waited answer to prayer.

Will we get a new stimulus check before the end of 2020? I watch Stephen Gardner’s Stimulus Update every day on YouTube to get the skinny on our representatives in Congress. He along with Christian comedian, Leanne Morgan, in her little Facebook videos, making jello salads, and telling us, “Everything is going to be alright,” have brightened my day and given me some laughs.

But mostly, I have missed blogging to you my readers. I will be back with a new travel writing gig in January, 2021 for my 60th birthday! Governor Newsom, willing.
